The best time to ask for referrals is directly after a customer receives a product or a service is successfully delivered. Again, you can offer them something in exchange for this but it’s when they’re happiest about what you’ve done for them (as long as you didn’t screw up).

Types of Businesses

This works for both online and in-person businesses. Once a contract is signed or a customer registers, you can offer them a discount or something of value in exchange for referrals they may have. The idea here is that fresh customers are hopeful and want to validate their decision to take the leap – it’s a vote of confidence.
