The good ones help calculate your net promoter score – improving on this by definition means growing your business as long as you’re getting customers.

You probably won’t want to try to implement your own surveys since they take too much time, are hard to create and not make them annoying, and you’ll have to come up with a way to score and make sense of the data. Plus you don’t have thousands of hours of product development to get it right like they did/do.
