This one is dead simple. You look for bloggers and people with a large social media following and send them a message offering them your product for free or at a big discount in exchange for a testimonial on their blog or social account. If they do a post about it, from a backlinks perspective it’s worth it right away.

Even though it works, it’s become such a common strategy, top influencers often get free products at their doorstep several times a week. They often just discard the ones that don’t stand out – so, be outstanding.

Economics

For the price of your product (and maybe shipping) you get the chance to get in front of a huge amount of people. It’s a good idea to make sure your product is awesome since some people may just leave you a negative review.

Choose wisely

When choosing bloggers for your product, you need to put certain factors in mind such as size of their traffic, their consistency, professionalism, etc.

Try to avoid controversial bloggers that don’t match with your brand or positioning unless that’s your goal. Thorough research on the blogger’s work will help a lot in ensuring you get value from the product you give for free.

Be upfront

Once all research is done, contact the bloggers and inform them of your offer. Be straightforward about your offer and what you’d like in return while also being friendly but not too friendly. Prioritize bloggers who seem enthusiastic about your offer. Do not try persuading bloggers who are not interested in doing the job as this may result in them producing content of less quality that will not work effectively to your favor.

Don’t be sleazy

Don’t ask for a positive review – they might also see this as sleazy and trash you then and there. Instead, you can say that if they’re not 100% happy, please give you the opportunity to make it right.
