Social photo site opportunity
With Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, Imgur, Flickr etc, we know that people want to scroll through content and stop – briefly – at something that looks interesting. This is not the same thing as a long form hub and spoke 10X, super blog post (obviously) so it represents a new channel and market of users that may be interested in what you have to say.
Try turning your blog posts into an image using Canva, or Photoshop or another tool. It can be either long-form like an infographic, classic like a square photo or a gallery of related images depending on the length and you can include a link back to the original post.
Overlay text, use quotes, summarize – you’ll need to get creative – and if you can’t see how this would work, it’s probably not for you. Try to make it funny, clever, current, controversial etc. But don’t make it a boring forgettable image; that’s just a waste of time.
Backlinks from social sites are “nofollow” but they are still worthwhile since they increase the buzz about your business online. They also improve your chances of a blogger seeing your content and writing about it organically – that’s one of the main goals of SEO anyway!
